How to Listen to Text
Play Track
To start listening to a track tap Play button in the bottom center of the playlist or when viewing track.
If you leave the track and then reopen it later, or on another device, you will be able to immidiaetly start listening from where you left of.
Rewind
You can "rewind" to the beginning of track by clicking ... in the top-right corner when viewing a track, and selecting Rewind.
Play Track
To start listening to a track open Capti and and click Play button in the bottom of the screen, or press letter "Q" on the keyboard. A second click on the button or press
on the shortcut will pause the playback.

Replay
To replay most recently played text segment open Capti and click the Replay in the bottom of the screen, or press letter "E" on the keyboard.
Play Text Segment
To play a segment of text, open Capti and select the text you want to play. A contextual menu will appear. Select Play Selection to start playing, or Play Selection in... if you want to choose a language first.
Listen to Text on Any Webpage
If you want to listen to text on any webpage, install Capti Chrome Browser extension, and:
- Open the webpage you want to read in the browser
- Select text you want to read and use the Alt+Q shortcut (if you don't select anything then Capti will start reading from the top of the page).
- The Capti Player will appear above the webpage, start playing the text you selected, and highlight the words as they are being read. Use the Play / Pause button to start and stop playback.
Play in Text Editor
To play a segment of text in your text editor: select the text and click the Capti Voice button.
A Capti Voice dialog will appear. Click the Play button to start listening.
Note that in order for this feature to work, Canvas administrator or instructor needs to add Capti Voice LTI integration to your Canvas.
Listen to Any Text
If you want to listen to text in Canvas, install Capti Chrome Browser extension, and:
- Select text you want to read in Canvas and use the Alt+Q shortcut (if you don't select anything then Capti will start reading from the top of the page).
- The Capti Player will appear above the webpage, start playing the text you selected, and highlight the words as they are being read. Use the Play / Pause button to start and stop playback. Use Text Options to change the fonts and colors.
Play on Webpage
To listen to text without leaving the webpage, select the text and click the Play button that will appear. The Capti Player will appear above the webpage, start playing the text you selected, and highlight the words as they are being read. Use the Play / Pause button to pause and resume playback.
If you want to continue listening but the Player window is a distraction, you can click Minimize button and the Player will switch to a minimalistic mode.
