Install & Setup Capti

Before deploying Capti on iPhones or iPads in your organization pick the Capti edition that best suits your needs:

  • Capti Voice can be found in AppStore's Productivity section and is designed for general use.
  • Capti Voice K-12 can be found in AppStore's Education section and is designed for K-12 students.

Tip: Capti Voice administrative controls for Teachers and Administrators are available in Web and Chromebook editions of Capti.

You can deploy Capti Voice for iOS in volume, or on individual devices:

Option 1Volume Deployment

If you have access to Apple Deployment Programm via your institution you can deploy Capti in volume.

Step 1. On Apple's Volume Purchase Program webpage: type "Capti" in the search field, press Enter, then click Capti icon in the list of results.

Step 2. Fill in the "Quantity" field, click Review Order, then click Place Order. You may need to login.

Note: Capti can be downloaded from the AppStore for free.

Step 3. Deploy Capti to students and teachers through your Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution, e.g. Apple Configurator.

Option 2Self Deployment

Ask your students and teachers to install Capti from the AppStore.

Step 1Download and Install Capti

Pick a version of Capti to download and install:

System Requirements:

  • Windows 7 or later or macOS El Capitan or later.
  • At least 4GB of memory (6GB for Windows 8).
  • At least 140MB of free space on your computer.
  • Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

If Capti is not starting or working properly:

  • Make sure that the ports 8078 and 8077 are not busy.
  • Make sure that your security setup doesn't block 54.209.113.2 and www.captivoice.com

Step 2Integrate Capti with Browser

To improve integration with the browser install and use Capti Chrome browser extension: it is useful for saving web articles to Capti and opening Capti directly from browser.

If you can't install extensions in the browser use Capti Bookmarklet is to save web articles to Capti, and bookmark www.captivoice.com to make opening it faster.

Step 1Make Capti available on your network

Capti can be accessed from www.captivoice.com without installation.

Supported browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari

If Capti is not working properly:

  • Make sure that your security setup doesn't block 54.209.113.2 and www.captivoice.com
  • Make sure that your security setup doesn't block 52.207.27.123 and vss.captivoice.com

Step 2Integrate Capti with your browser
